Testosterone Propionate is simply Testosterone with the Propionate ester bound it’s chemical structure. The ‘Propionate’ is Propionic acid, but once bound to Testosterone it is known as an ester bond (or ester linkage). Propinoic acid is bonded to the 17-beta hydroxyl group on the Testosterone structure. Esterified anabolic steroids are more fat soluble, and release slowly from the injection site.

i. The Mildest Testosterone Ester:

Bodybuilders commonly consider propionate to be the mildest testosterone ester, and the preferred form for the dieting/cutting phases of training. As with all testosterones, it is a powerful mass drug, capable of producing rapid gains in size and strength. At the same time the buildup of estrogen and DHT (dihydrotestosterone) will be pronounced, so typical testosterone side effects are to be expected. Some will go so far as to say that propionate will harden the physique, while giving the user less water and fat retention than one typically expects to see with a testosterone like enanthate, cypionate or Sustanon.

ii.Short Active LifeEster:

Testosterone Propionate is the shortest commonly ester attached to the Testosterone hormone. It acts much faster than other testosterone esters such as cypionate or enanthate, and requires a much more frequent dosing schedule, in order to maintain stable blood levels. This means it takes your body the least amount of time to rid itself of the ester and release the parent hormone into the body. Due to its short active life, testosterone propionate typically needs to be injected every other day at a minimum. Anecdotally, testosterone propionate causes the least side effects and the least bloating.

iii. Testosterone Propionate Solubility:

This product is soluble in chloroform (50 mg/ml). It is also soluble in various oils. The oil solutions can be sterilized by maintaining at 150 deg C for 1 hour. It is practically insoluble in water, soluble 1 in 6 of ethanol, 1 in 4 of acetone, 1 in 20 of ethyl oleate, and 1 in 30 of propylene glycol. The product is incompatible with alkalis and oxidizing agents and it should be protected from light.
